Users in EU countries, the United Kingdom and Australia must be at least 18 years old to sign up.

If you access certain optional features and services on the Telegram platform, you will be additionally bound by their specific terms - such as the Terms of Service for Telegram Stars, Telegram Premium, Telegram Business, Bot Users, Mini App Users, Content Creators, Telegram Gateway API, Telegram API Developers, and Bot Developers.

Telegram additionally prohibits data scraping as part of its Content Licensing and AI Scraping Terms, which apply to all users, businesses, and third-party services accessing the platform.

Terms of Service for Telegram Stars

Telegram users can acquire Telegram Stars, which are used to purchase digital goods and services from bots and mini-apps inside the Telegram app. Should you wish to use Telegram Stars, you in turn accept the Terms of Service for Telegram Stars.

Terms of Service for Telegram Premium

Telegram is a free application that provides a wide range of services, including unlimited cloud storage, 2 GB file uploads, audio and video calls, group chats up to 200,000 members, support for multiple devices, and more, free of charge. Some additional services, such as Telegram Premium, may be available for purchase in certain countries - offering an even more powerful messaging experience and a chance to support the continuing development of the Telegram platform.

1. Introduction

Telegram Premium is a subscription membership that unlocks exclusive features and improved functionality. By purchasing Telegram Premium, you authorize recurring payments using the payment method you selected until the subscription is cancelled.

Telegram uses third-party payment processors to securely facilitate purchases of Telegram Premium.

1.1. Payment

You can manage your Telegram Premium subscription in your account settings. If your payment method is declined, you must provide new payment information or your subscription may be cancelled.

1.2. Taxes and Conversion Rates

Users in certain regions may be required to pay local taxes. Payment providers may apply their own commissions and conversion rates to payments in various currencies.

2. Cancellation Policy

2.1. Cancelling a Subscription

You can cancel Telegram Premium at any time through Telegram settings, Apple account settings, or Google Play subscriptions, depending on where the purchase was made.

2.2. Refunds and Effective Cancellation

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. At the end of the subscription you lose access to Premium features.

Deleting your Telegram account or removing the application from your device does not cancel your subscription.

3. Paid Services Obtained Through Third Parties

If you obtain a Telegram Premium subscription via a third party, the purchase may also be subject to that third party's terms.

3.1. Refunding Services Obtained Through Third Parties

Chargeback or refund requests for third-party purchases may require Telegram to release necessary purchase and account status data to that third party.

4. Termination

4.1. Compliance with the Terms

Failure to comply with Telegram terms may result in temporary or permanent restrictions and loss of Premium benefits.

4.2. Unilateral Termination

Telegram can decide to stop offering subscriptions at any time, including because of legal requirements or unforeseen circumstances.

5. Taxes, Fees and Refunds

You are responsible for applicable taxes, data plans, internet fees, and other fees associated with your use of Telegram.

6. Changes

6.1. Pricing and Terms

Telegram may change pricing and terms for future renewals to reflect business changes, product updates, or new economic conditions.

6.2. Advance Notice

Telegram may give advance notice of material changes through messages to your Telegram account.

Messages from Telegram about Premium accounts contain subscription or payment status information.

7. The Scope of Premium Services

7.1. Included Services

The services included in Telegram Premium are listed in the Premium section. Items may be added, removed, changed, made free, or offered separately.

7.2. Availability

Telegram strives to make services available, but occasional technical issues may temporarily prevent free or paid services from being delivered.

7.3. Software Requirements

Some Premium services may require the latest version of the Telegram application to be installed.

7.4. Chat Translation and Voice-to-text Conversion

Premium services include optional conversion of video and voice messages to text and optional live translation for chats, groups, and channels.

7.5. Increased Download Speed

Premium services may include increased download speed, while actual speed still depends on hardware, internet provider, and network conditions.

7.6. The Absence of Advertisements

In certain countries Telegram shows sponsored messages in large public channels. Premium users may not see Telegram-sponsored messages, while channel owners may still publish their own promotions.

7.7. Boosts

Premium services provide boosts which users can assign to channels to help increase channel levels and unlock or extend features.

7.8. Giveaways in Channels

Channel admins can organize giveaways at their expense. Prices, availability, eligibility, and local legal requirements may vary.
